N° 21 — December 2013 – January 2014

Diptyk #21

40 Years of Modern Art in Morocco

In late 2013, Moroccan modern art is in the spotlight everywhere: the L’Atelier gallery is celebrating its 40th anniversary, Belkahia is exhibiting at L’Atelier 21, Kacimi at the Bank Al-Maghrib Museum, and the Centre Pompidou is opening its “Modernités plurielles” exhibition. Diptyk #21 dedicates its special feature to 40 years of modern art in Morocco. This December 2013–January 2014 issue also features voices from the contemporary art scene: Lalla Essaydi, Hicham Benohoud, Mustapha Akrim, and Yassine Balbzioui. On the art market front, it shows that Asia is taking an interest in artists from the Arab world.
