N° 22 — February–March 2014
Africa Breaks Through the Gates of "The Divine Comedy"
With the exhibition “The Divine Comedy,” contemporary African art breaks through the gates of heaven, purgatory, and hell: Diptyk #22 features it as its cover story. This February–March 2014 issue features a portfolio by Omar Victor Diop, “African Pride,” and covers Mona Hatoum’s “Zone of Turbulence” at Mathaf. It takes a look at the Marrakech Biennale, which is trying to establish itself in the city, and the MuCEM, which is shifting its focus away from Morocco. It also interviews curator Bonaventure Ndikung. On the market front, video art is struggling to gain a foothold in the secondary market.
