Diptyk #49

Figurative Painting Returns

In 2019, the Venice Biennale features several African pavilions, from Ghana to Madagascar, but Morocco is still absent. Diptyk #49 asks what Venice says about Africa. This summer 2019 issue also follows the launch in Casablanca of “Prête-moi ton rêve”, a pan-African exhibition set to travel for a whole year. It observes the return of figurative painting among a young generation of Moroccan artists. Reports, analyses, interviews and portfolios complete the issue.
