This marks the artist’s first exhibition in her home country. Meriem Bennani presents Life on the CAPS (2018–22) in Essaouira at the Salle de boxe on Avenue Mohammed V, from 13 December to 8 February 2026. This video trilogy, a futuristic dystopia infused with cartoon-like humor, brings together all the elements that define her distinctive practice: hybridizations of live-action footage and animation, dynamic editing, and nods to reality television. The project is spearheaded by the art advisory agency NG, founded this year in Paris by Samy Ghiyati, formerly of David Zwirner, and Nicolas Nahab, who has worked with Marian Goodman and Yvon Lambert, among others.
